I remember that opening too, I used to watch The banana splits and The Wonderful World of Disney on NBC. My family watched NBC a lot, my parents loved Laugh In and Bonanza, I always loved Little House On The Prairie. But I don't remember the peacock before Little House came on though.
does anyone remember when NBC had a segment before the 1st show of the night (8:00) called whats on tonight where an on camera host would do an anouncement of the programs that would air that nights in prime time lineup?? I think it was only used during the 1972-73 season.
I do remember this NBC Peacock as the one used for openings of several shows until the fall of 1974. This is the opening I remember used right before the first episode of "Little House On The Priarie" (the only time the Peacock was used for "Little House"), from when I was 10 years old (the last time I remember the Peacock used). I wish someone could find the vid. of that Peacock (same here), but w/ the unique quick cut to the girls running down the hill.

One of my earliest memories. Seeing this when we tuned in to watch Laugh In.

Remember it well.
Also in the 1973-74 season.
Kristen Banfield was her name.
Why I remember, I don't know.

I loved seeing this! In the 60's it always meant that I'd hear Dean Martin singing Everybody loves somebody sometime! Then his TV show would begin!

That peacock scared the heck out of me when I was a young kid.
