The State of California is facing a series of unprecedented economic, educational, and social crises. Our leaders in Sacramento debate over partisan issues while our children suffer and our schools are dismantled. Our children cannot vote, but we can. It is time to make our voices (and theirs) heard.
With spending per pupil rapidly declining in California, our K-12 education system has taken a sharp plummet to the bottom of the national rankings. According to recent polls, with California cutting per pupil spending by nearly 25 percent, or $1,500 per student, it now ranks 45th in the nation in spending per pupil. If the cuts in education continue, California Community Colleges will be forced to deny access to classes to more than 400,000 students -- roughly the same number enrolled in the entire California State University system.
We can do better. We must expect more from our leaders. Write to Governor Brown and our Legislature today and tell them to place the temporary tax extensions on the ballot and give Californians a voice and the opportunity to Save Our Schools!
It's not just about the kids. Higher education is ALSO SUFFERING.

The ppl of this state already had a voice with Prop 1a, and it lost by a 30% margin just 2 years ago!! Remember 65% - 35% defeat!
Instead of begging for taxes to be raised, why don't you scream at the teachers and admins to take a measley 10% pay cut across the board, as well as pay into thier own HC a little more!!?? Scream at the state to STOP spending on those here ILLEGALLY!!! Things OTHER than raising our taxes AGAIN can be done without touching the children!!!
