Excellent.

Thank you so much for posting!
He made some good points, and right at the time the planners were considering redeveloping vast swathes of Georgian Bath. Things have turned about now, with the neo-Georgian Southgate shopping centre replacing the 60s one, and hiding the car parks below ground.
BTW, Camden Cresent was not completed because the ground up there on the hill couldn't take the weight. You can see in the video how far it was supposed to stretch beyond the central colonnades.

The film presents ugly social housing in stark contrast to Georgian Classicism and if made today Newbuilds would be reflecting back up towards Lansdown Crescent with their private aspirations no doubtmeeting the planning requirements. I'm unsure how badly Bath has been effected by Newbuilds, but I did notice the patina of Georgian Bath had gone last time I was there and if one did spot a house with its original black patina how good it looked! Thanks kidcrowth for uploading this JB gem.

Very interesting!
All the comments JB makes are just as relevant today. Planners over the years have committed urban vandalism

The same arguments today with the same planning department morons (note the Holburne Museum's vital buttocks!).
