Online Video IS the "Long Tail," Says Chris Anderson -- Amazon Names His Book #1 Business Title of 2006......
Earlier this week I visited the busy editorial offices of Wired Magazine in San Francisco. I caught up with Chris Anderson, editor in chief, whose The Long Tail has been a runaway non-fiction book. Amazon has ranked it the number one Business Book of the Year.
The book has just one chapter dedicated to a specific industry: online video. Chris saw this world about to explode -- and this was before YouTube.
In addition to writing about online video in his book, Wired has covered the emerging online video extensively -- just like Chris, the magazine is always one step ahead.
Here's the December issue of Wired. Most of the issue is online -- and it's on the newsstand. By the way, I think wired.com is looking really good since its acquisition by Conde Nast. Chris says there will be all sorts of cool functionality added to the site next year. We'll look forward to that.

Thanks for this confirmation. I was thinking that people are only interested in the video that matches their youtube search, so if you have thousands of "long tail" videos on youtube then you have a collective reason for people to want to subscribe to you. I see your channel has 1037 videos - this is also my plan (just started) - 14 in 5 days so a long way to go
