1966 single and cover of a Hollies track (Evolution LP). It was the last to chart in Britain and only at number 48.

  • Gotta hand this one to The Searchers baby. Love the harmonies here better. I still love The Hollies, though :)

  • This has all the ingredients for a great pop record, good melody, guitar hooks, excellent vocal harmony, not to mention John Blunt's great drum licks (which should have been WAY UP in the mix !!) Searchers made the BEST version, Hollies, close 2nd !

  • Fabulous song by the Searchers. I'll have to check out the Hollies original version.

  • Just my opinion, but I reckon this was their best ever. Try playing it!

  • Ex drummer Chris Curtis wasn't too happy, he claimed that they pinched the idea of releasing this Hollies track after he produced a version for Paul & Barry Ryan, Chris said he was asked to pull his version but he refused, neither were a hit.

  • Even Allen Clarkeof the Hollies says that he liked the Searchers version and felt they should have had a hit with it.

  • Hell Yeah, this band was just good! This was great and only two of the original band members played on it! Mike Pender had a very good voice, it was perfect for their material! This song and "Each Time" and "Take me For What It's Worth" were all just fabulous! hawkmoon03111951 and You tube thanks for the upload and space!

  • Yes I am bias and proud of it,The Searchers have been my faverate band of the sixtes and still are ....Tezza the Manch.....

  • I always thought they were far superior to the Beatles.

  • So good!

  • @gazzymodo YOUR RIGHT the searchers speeded up the tempo [chris curtis said john blunt sounded like a rat running across the drums ] .
