@Panzerzimmerpflanze Well i own a parker hale musktoon and it is a really nice weapon. Because its weight distribution and shorter barel it has a bit more of a kick but nothing too bad ;) In terms of shooting its one of the most reliable guns ive fired and has been very acurate for myself. Hope this helps a bit:)
Have you had any experience with the Parker Hale (or any other manufacturer) of the P1861 enfield rifled musketoons? I like their weight and ease of aim, but have never had a chance to shoot one, and am a bit concerned that the short sight radius and short barrel might limit its accuracy and grouping abilities.
@murpheysmuskets Swiss Black-Powder is alsy quite rapid burning... :) Rifleshoppe make great Kits, Parts and Arms, only that their Customer Support is...well, nonexisting.
If you can wait for something, and really want it, and it is a special Piece, they are nice. but takes a lot of Patience ^^
@LutzDerLurch [cont] I have been searching for this Powder for years and only after I found it, I probed into original charges. Also it puts into Relation the amount of Smoke you obtain from "normal" modern loads.
With my current Ammo, I can load however many Rounds I want, only that the Target disappears after a few Rounds. Quite a Nice Demonstration of one of the reasons in the Battles so few Balls scored.
@murpheysmuskets I know...Always neatly planning a Weekend, just to kiss the Plans Goodbye as soon as the Time has come...I use BP from Wano, "Harzer Power". But i doubt it is available in the US. They Key is, that it burn rather slowly. It is Powerful, but burns noticably slower than "usual" Powder. That makes Recoil soft and keeps Pressure at Levels the Barrel can easily handle.
I am not sure if using the rapidburning Powder in original loads is the best Idea..
@LutzDerLurch Thanks for all the info man. I love talking history. I myself would love to be 100% correct, however that requires money and time that I just don't want to put into it...Yet anyway. As for Ballistics-Gel Tests every weekend I think I'm gonna have time to set it up it doesn't happen :( Hopefully i'll have it up soon, maybe by then I might be brave enough to fire a 190gr charge lol. What brand Bp do you use?
