As President Obama sits down with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, beginning an intense two week engagement with Middle East leaders, the new release of a Zogby Interactive survey helps clarify the political landscape here in the United States.

The poll indicates that majorities share the President's goals and will support his efforts to press both parties for peace. But it also reveals a deep partisan divide, with voters who supported the President overwhelmingly supporting a "get tough" policy to stop settlements and achieve a two-state solution to the conflict.

  • I understand the focus is on American perceptions of peace, but after the slide show, the discussion goes off on many tangents, none of them regarding Palestinian responsibilities towards the peace process or among pro-Palestinian (who wrap themselves in the label themselves "pro-peace") supporters towards the overall debate of this conflict. If the Zogby brothers want to be viewed as objective and taken seriously, add a dash of introspection to your discussion

  • Anyone else notice how there was no mention in this entire hour about Palestinian responsibilities towards the peace process? How about the pro-Palestinian constituency, what are their responsibilities towards this peace process...?
