For more than 12 years Camp America has provided staff and couselors to Camp ASCCA.

...Some of our best counselors have come from the Camp America program...Founded in 1969, Camp America offers an opportunity for international students to experience life at camp in the United States. Each year camps from across the US are able to select from over 10,000 applicants from 21 countries. Applicants must speak English, have experience with children, and undergo a rigorous screening process. This makes it easy on camp directors to find applicants that fit their needs.

This year Camp ASCCA welcomed three young men to the camp experience: Tiraj Shah, Richard Jones, and Craig Dinnett. Tiraj and Richard live in England and Craig is from Scotland. Each has his own background and unique personality that made Camp great again this summer. For the summer staff it became a mission to show them the American way of life and to learn a little about another culture.

Below is an interview with Tiraj, Richard, and Craig as they talk about their experiences this summer.

  • Thanks, KatrinaLove. We would be happy to have you consider Camp ASCCA.

valma1208, our counselors are ages 18 and up. If you are in college you may apply. Also, we have CITs - counselors in training - for those under 18.
