Railway Rambles on WHR Garratt Beddgelert Forrest

Finally at last....YT now accept *.mts format video !! Welsh Highland Railway
Here is a wonderful taster of the WHR hard at work as crew on No.87 attack the 1:40 through Beddgelert forest then forced to throttle back due to sheep on the line.
Its hard to see anyone should wish to travel 1/2 way around the globe for live action steam when we have this on our doorstep. Stunning locos in stunning scenery, all these Garratt's are very powerful, slightly less than a BR Class 3 Standard, to give you some idea of their power AND on 2ft gauge. I estimate 9 carriage & 1 truck at some 80-85 ton and clearly not a problem!!
Go visit the WHR, make the effort folks, buy a ticket to ride & you will NOT be disappointed!!
