Apparently my 1st Generation MacBook can be shutdown by holding shift down durring the boot process. The shift key durring the boot process is used to boot into 'safe mode'. This is kind of ironic as the 'safe mode' seems to be what is killing the MacBook

My MacBook to date has both been sent in for repair for random shutdowns (which took two weeks) and had the MacBook Firmware update which was also supposed to fix the random shutdowns.

I guess I've got 2 reasons to send it in for a second repair, as I've been mulling taking it in for a screen flickering problem which has been documented by others here on YouTube...

    Because of other problems I'm having, I was logically trying to boot into safe mode...

  • I want to have the 2 weeks my brand new MacBook sat in repair for an issue a new product shouldn't be having + the next two weeks for yet another repair to fix this and other issues my new Mac has back...
