This video shows the 40-minute growth of a compound called cobalt chloride. It reacts in Sodium Silicate, another chemical, to form a crystal in just 18 seconds of time lapse photography.

  • ok so is is the same chem as a silica gel desiccant bag like you find in packaging with electronics and stuff?

  • @HALO1017 ya u have to put it in sodium silicate water doesnt react with it but the solution should only be about a fifth sodium and the rest water or the sloution will be too dense to grow upwards
