Rifugio Pontese by Lago Teleccio in the Gran Paradiso National Park is a superb and friendly base for rock climbing on the cliffs of Valsoera and Tribulazione. Many other rock climbs and training climbs are available. Walks to Rifugio Ivrea, Pocchiola Meneghello and Carpano provide a variety of tours and excursions. In winter ths Alpine hut can only be reached on touring skiis. There is also a mini via ferrata and on some days more ibex and chamois to see than human beings. EWP 2009
