Atreyu - Lip Gloss and Black Cover - Dual Guitar - "Suicide Notes and Butterfly Kisses"

Atreyu / Lip Gloss and Black. Really enjoyed playing this song. Just because there is lots of variation of techniques and tempo changes within it. Its not got anything too challenging but some of the riffs are brilliant.

The tapping section at the beginning it a great opening leading in to some nice riffs and ending with a melodic solo. Its a great song to play just because of these parts alone. I've jammed to this song before so I found playing most parts pretty easy. The solo was a bit of a challenge as the fast picking bits of songs will always be.

I've recorded both parts of the guitar again as usual its in a drop C tuning as is normal for Atreyu. I do like this album as it goes back to the old Atreyu. Im sure people will agree, I'e recorded most of Dan Jacobs's guitar parts in the left channel as it seems to be done this way and Travis Miguel's down the right channel. Travis plays the solo on this one so again this is on the right channel.

I love the piano melodies and sections in this with just piano. Really makes the song feel bigger and more epic. Enjoyed doing the tapping on this as its just a fucking awesome tapping riff. I've recorded this with the POD X3 custom settings tryin to get a decent sound. There are a few mistakes and bits off tempo but overall its not a bad cover. I'm trying to get these covers down perfectly but its sometimes hard as tabs arent always correct.

Not sure what the next cover will be but its likely to be another A7X song or maybe Five Finger Death Punch but I'll see!

when you tap do your best to make all of the notes sound for the same amount of time. that will improve the intro a ton.
