streetparade 2011

for 20 years now, electronic dance music, played very loudly from trucks carefully navigating through a massive crowd of people, has made zurich's streetparade one of the largest parties in the world.

originally a public demonstration of a small subculture, the streetparade has become a very diverse kind of electronic "folk festival", attracting families and senior citizens next to ravers, freaks and bodymods. this year, it was a welcome sight to see quite a few handicapped people safely mingling in the crowds...

it is also always amazing, that so few incidences occur during the 48 hours the hundreds of thousand party-goers cause mayhem...
