Embassy bombing 1998 should have taught the need to be prepared as a city for any invetuality. Instead what we have got is a government and council that lack a vision on how a modern 21st century city looks like. It is time these 1960s,70s, and 80s dinosours of politicians retired and left the country to young able leaders.

Kenya is not ready for disaster management and will likely never be in our lifetime. Disaster preparedness is a process that involves all persons in the country. How many employers in Kenya train their staff on basic safety procedures like on how to use a fire extinguisher or perform CPR? I don't think they have an idea of what the acronym RACE means. In times of earthquakes it might be worse because people don't know how to respond to such a disaster.

I am sorry for all the people who could not make it to the outside of the building and died trapped in. The greedy owners who locked them in to avoid looting from outsiders are greedy jerks.
