Twenty Flight Rock" was recorded by Cochran in July 1956 at Goldstar Studio, with Connie Smith on the bull fiddle and Jerry Capehart thumping a soup carton. Written by Eddie Cochran and Ned Fairchild. Released in 1957 on Liberty records with "Somethin' Else" as the flip side. Buddy Holly Live! occaionally played songs by other artists. This was a spirited performance from 2005 in April in Brockville in front a crowd of about 700.

  • OK, but not great. Buddy never played a Gretsch nor did he play licks from "Rock around the clock" in his songs. Electric bass is not cool, either. Not trying to bitch, but if you're gonna do something, do it right? It's OK, but not great.

  • Thanks for your comment. During that segment of the show, we tell the audience Buddy's going to play Eddie Cochran's guitar to give them a taste of other rock of the era. The whole show is 95% Buddy, but we have fun on this one - Your comments are all entirely correct but hopefully you'd enjoy the show in its entirety.

  • True, but Joe B Mauldin switched over midway through their career. They started doing all shows with the stand up. I think he switched over around mid -1958
