  • What we as martial artists must realize is that NONE of the techniques we learn are to be considered "real-life applicable". Everything we are taught (and I do mean everything) is purely conceptual; it's up to tue individual to take the concepts and interpret them and put them into action in their own unique way.

That being said, this video has some really clever and well developed concepts. Anyone who has a different opinion is most likely taking their training to literally.

    Kudos on a hel

  • Nice to watch but what is the guy in 0:40 trying to hit with his stick?

  • @bertthepickle agree best Bunkai ive seen on YT is in the Oyata seminar vids on YT grnted he is ryukyu kempo not shotokan

  • This is excellent bunkai, very useful for getting ready for grading

  • Very interesting approach, I like the creative bunkai here, I have never seen most of these moves before. Thank you for sharing.

  • @xxDaReturnxx think about it.the guy with the stick made the movement from the top to down.he didn't swing from the sides, but anyway,it's not REAL life

  • LoL, guys! Vids about uechi-ryu bunkai and other old okinawan schools have good comments all the time EVEN THEY USE THE SAME ATTACKS!

This is good bunkai. You don't learn self-defense in a dojo, whatever realistics attacks you might train. You simply learn it on the street, in real situations. There you can find out which simple method is good for you. It might seem unrealistic to others, but it might work for you. Find it out in the street, then come back and tell your insights you gained.

  • It's not so much an issue of people doing 'sport' interpretations of kata. It's more that they should label it as such making sure that inexperienced people don't think that this is true self defence or a practical application of that movement.

  • das sind doch nicht etwa daniel, Flo und Constantin o.O

alter schwede xD Nice bunkai :D

    Lg jan :D
