It looks like a white ball because you bought your scope from a department store that sold the scope with fantastic claims like x525 magnification - when magnification is one of the least important factors with telescopes. Remember - aperture is king!
@aper422 The author is using an 11" telescope which is a respectable size in amateur astronomy. The real limiting factors are the seeing conditions and atmosphere.
If you want more clarity and detail then filters will help but you can also bring out more detail through astrophotography with stacking.

@neil73 LX200 isn't a bad telescope.
The problem here is probably atmospheric seeing. Registax could be used to stack each frame in the video into a much clearer image.

use a smaller eyepiece like a 9mm will do. Smaller the better only because you can get more detail what ever your looking at.

just looks like a white ball. i want a telescope that i can actually see color or maybe a clear and focused mars.
