My 83 Perkins Ranger gets on the short side 40MPG but if I baby it and accelerate gently, coast down hills, and run with a biodiesel mix I can get over 50MPG.

So Ford originally used the Perkins 2.2 then a Ford 2.3 diesel later?

r u gonna sell your truck

i have a 84 2.2 diesel 4 speed ranger also i love it its strong and has over a million miles on it and runs strong as it did new really a great truck n rare how many of these even exist i thought i had the only one
-
i so want this truck

@smd30m2010, id just get dual wheels for it, thats if you can find them in that lug pattern...To my knowledge, dually rear ends are the same as all other rears, the reason they are wider is because of the wheel offset....thats what i learned.

is their a way to put 2 dually rearends on it?
Did Ford make this truck w/ a diesel engine for the US market? Or did you convert it from gas to diesel? I've never seen one in the states.

@RokBlu , Ford built this truck with the Perkins diesel engine for the US market , the changed it with the Mitsubishi 2.3L diesel in '85 till '87 and discontinued it after that . What a shame !
