Along with Hennig, Kurt Angle is probably someone that needs little introduction to the wrestling world. Kurt reached the peak of his amateur career in 1996, when he won the Olympic Gold Medal. Afterward, he would make the switch to professional wrestling, and the rest was history. He debuted in 1999, and enjoyed a lengthy undefeated streak into early 2000. After losing for the first time, Kurt bounced back by winning the Intercontinental and European Titles, unifying them into what he would call the "EuroContinental" Title. He would lose both in a Two Fall, Triple Threat without being pinned. In the fall of 2000, he would win the WWF World Heavyweight Title, keeping a hold on it until 2001. He would become the leader of the WWF forces after Stone Cold defected to the Alliance, although he would turn on the WWF in the final battle. In 2002, he found himself tagging alongside Chris Benoit, and the two were an incredibly ferocious duo. However, Kurt's peak came later in the year, when he once again won the WWE Title, and engaged in a long feud against Brock Lesnar. It was here that Kurt's neck began to deteriorate, and his condition continued to worsen. In 2006, he joined the upstart ECW brand, and after a few months, left WWE altogether, and soon appeared for TNA. He and Samoa Joe took part in a trio of brutal matches. Kurt's success would eventually follow him to TNA, where he would become a TNA Champion, X Division Champion, and Tag Team Champion(but NOT the IWGP Heavyweight Champion). He also competed in the co-main event of the 2008 New Japan Pro Wrestling Tokyo Dome show, wrestling Yuji Nagata in a great match. A month later, he would lose his first shot at the IWGP Heavyweight Title. Back in TNA, he formed the Main Event Mafia, and even brought a portion of them over for the 2009 Tokyo Dome Show, where he and Giant Bernard had a bit of a scrap, and ended up wrestling one another a month later. Now, Angle seems to be at a turning point in his career, as he's become the target of TNA newcomer Desmond Wolfe(aka Nigel McGuinness). Angle's style is built around the Belly to Belly Suplex, as well as the Rolling German Suplexes. Many have fallen to the Angle Slam, and many more have tapped out to the Ankle Lock.

One question: How did Angel not become the IWGP Heavyweight Champion. I didn't get that. I mean, I've heard there was another at the time or something. But I don't know the whole story.
Long story short: Brock Lesnar won the IWGP Heavyweight Title in 2005, and in 2006, he was unable to make a scheduled defense, and was stripped. He never returned the belt, forcing New Japan Pro Wrestling to bring back on of the older designs. A year later, Brock joins Antonio Inoki's IGF promotion, and still has the belt in his possession, though it meant nothing at this time. Angle won it from him in June of 2007, though again, the belt was meaningless.
I still can't forget Angle's early matches with the WWF/WWE during the Attitude era, especially that famous June 2001 cage match w/ Benoit on Raw and his street fight . Ah, the memories...
what i understan about angles style is that it isnt the amount of moves or the style of them, its the precision with which he hits the moves. his rolling germans is perfection, his belly to belly is amazing. the use of ameture wrestling in the olympic slam is perfect and his ankle lock is damn near unescapable. thats what makes him the best alive in my opinion is his precision

I'm not going to take anything away from angle, but the more clips of Puro that I watch, the less awesome he seems.
