This does benefit Sen. Obama, though, because a majority of his support comes from the professional elite in the Democratic party, whereas Sen. Clinton's support comes from minorities (especially Hispanics), women, and blue collar women and families (she's been endorsed by unions representing 6 million + working families).

The caucuses were originally designed to be exclusive--only for party insiders. It's much the same way now, with about 120k participating in a state of 1M+. It largely disenfranchises the working poor (especially those who work third shift) and the infirm (who would otherwise have been able to vote absentee).

Kucinich supporters - stand up with us! Richardson, Biden & Dodd supporters, even John Edwards supporters -- stand up with us!  Barack Obama builds the tent wide, tall, and large - plenty of room for all. When HRC finally gives up, we'll bring her followers in under the tent, too! Obama will be fighting for us every day in the White House. Unfortunately, a vote for HRC is a vote for defeat in November. She energizes the Republican base like no other. Obama '08!

I'm a CA voter who's thrilled to see the seriousness of the caucus process and the willingness to understand the candidates on a deeper level. Barack has captured my imagination in a way that no other candidate ever has. He's an incredibly gifted person who has the unique ability to bring people together toward the common good. Following years of divisive politics, I look forward to an inspirational leader who has the sincere desire to find solutions to the challenges that we face. OBAMA'08!

Make no mistake, the huge political machine of the Clintons will not take this lying down. They were great for Dems, until that ML debacle, so it's time to move on now. Hillary is really better suited to be a great Sec'y of Education while Barack is well-qualified to be President. We need real change. Great party, Helen.
