In this MarineDepot.com video, we'll show you how to set up an AquaMaxx Fluidized Media Reactor.

Subscribe to our YouTube channel for more informative videos about the aquarium hobby and the ever-evolving equipment we use with our tanks.

Media reactors have quickly become an essential part of many hobbyists' aquarium filtration systems. They are easy to setup, easy to maintain and affordable, even for reefers on a strict budget.

If left unchecked, high phosphate can fuel undesirable algae growth and inhbit corals' ability to utilize calcium in aquarium water.

Running a media reactor with Granular Ferrous Oxide (GFO) media inside removes phosphate from tank water to make your aquarium and its inhabitants healthy and looking their best.

  • Can I use your reactor for K1 media instead?

  • @wndebu You could, however K1 Media could be abrasive and requires more randomized flow to keep the bioflim suspended. Instead you would be better off using a BioPellet style reactor.
