Settings are in the video. Anno 1404 runs between 15 - 25 frams on the settings which I used. Though if you turn down all the settings to low, it'll run at 30+ frames. But the game looks too ugly, even though performance is great.

NOTE: I'm running the game in DIRECTX 9 and not 10! The game starts in DX 10 by default so you'll have to edit the config file to make it run in DX 9 mode. You won't miss out much in terms of eyecandy since the game is hardly playable in DX 10.

  • damn cool graphix, lucky you :D

I doubt it will run on x3100

  • @botanikox Hmm.. I guess the x3100 will run this, since it gives 30+ frames on the x4500. The graphics are much better in DX 10, but sadly it causes huge lags while playing! Guess the x4500 is at the end of its lifespan! :'(

  • Oh my gosh, I just never played any RPG games to really know for sure. I mean, I have played a few, but it's been a couple of years. Still, the game only has so much graphics regardless of whether it can be zoomed or not.

  • @jhirzel88 It can be zoomed in and it's not pixelated...

  • That is true. If this were an action-filled game that requires more graphics, it would appear decent, but you'll still need a better graphics card to prevent it from lagging from sudden movements. This is just a RPG game, and the characters are pixelated and the backgrounds can't be zoomed in at all. I guess that's why it was pointless to use DX 10 in that case.

  • @jhirzel88 Nope. Videos don't need as much graphics card power cause it doesn't have to process the whole world, you can't move the camera and you basically do nothing during the video...

  • The intro seemed to catch my attention the most because of your computer's graphics! It must have better graphics than you thought if you couldn't do DX 10. I can sometimes tell how good the graphics are just by watching the video at the beginning. Since it runs laggy in DX 10 that all makes sense.

I never heard of this game, of course I haven't played any games of this category for a while.
