1991 Valleydale Meats 500 - Sterling Marlin Hard Crash

Sterling Marlin apparently blew a tire entering the turn and slammed the outside wall bursting into flames, he got out of his car and fell to the ground. This is the race that had the side by side finish with Rusty Wallace and Ernie Irvan, Wallace winning by about half a car lenght.

marlin actually got burned pretty bad, he wasnt able to run a full race until Talladega

for Wilkesboro and Martinsville he needed relief drivers

WOW, something is terribly wrong when a pit crew member and a guy in a white polo are the people who pull you from a burning wreck at a nascar event.

I liked Bristol better before it was concrete. Thankfully with the new transitional banking, the racing has gotten back a lot to how it was when the track was still asphalt - even though the wreck-lovers don't like it =P
