"mp4/flv codec"
Neither mp4 nor flv are codecs. They are containers that can contain different
There is no need to upload it to youtube as you could use ffmpeg directly:
Video: h264, yuv420p, 640x480 [PAR 1:1 DAR 4:3], 669 kb/s, 59.75 tbr, 1k tbn, 59.83 tbc, profile : Main@L3.0
Audio: aac, 44100 Hz, stereo, s16, 101 kb/s
Also you have re-encoded it actually 2000 times probably with some sucky encoder from quicktime or something.

this shit sounds scary but this is like taking a picture of your self at 30,then making an copy of that picture, and so and, so forth. lol now i understand why cloning is not so popular
A great take on an interesting piece. I commend you for sticking to it and not giving up halfway through; this must have felt like an eternity putting this together from start to finish. It's funny how some of the uploads in the middle sound more disturbing than the 1000th upload. A brilliant modern response to Lucier!

@MeticulousGuitarist Thanks man! In fact the last upload is the worst sound of all, but I edited it down in this version because it's simply too awful. Check out the final version on my profile page if you want to be terrified.

Very interesting project...it's funny, because the Lucier version turns into such an ethereal sound and this is like evil robot land. Resonance vs compression. I'm finishing off something in this vein, but it's more on the tv screen/camera lossy side, trying to take Lucier as a starting point and make something abstract from there.

@patanagreg It definitely showcases the differences between analog and digital, right? I suspect your tv/camera project will turn out quite beautiful as well, let me know when you get it up here!

Since you most probably converted to a so called "lossy" format (in the worst case even on a Mac using Quicktime!) this shows the degradation from the flv--> mp4 transcoding (whatever codec you used in those containers...), not necessarily from youtube (who usually do a quite good job at transcoding). You could have saved a lot of bandwidth + time if you did this just locally...
