  • We're performing this song in our Touring Choir. Let me just say, it's unlike any other song I've performed. There are so many wonderful parts in this piece that just gives you complete chills and if it's performed right, with a nice blended voice. Oooh~ You feel out of this world. You don't even think about the music anymore. You're just so indulged by the beautiful voices surrounding you that you lose yourself and just become music. <3

I disagree. I don't think Lauriden's version of this song is intended to be fast. The steady tempo really shows the sentimental aspect and the hope of the text. If it was too slow, it would actually lose the breathlessness quality. It's constantly building until the climax at "Sure on this shining night" and I think their interpretation was spot on.

  • This is my favorite video on youtube. I get goosebumps each time I listen to it. Thank you.

  • Very beautiful version, but it's so fast. This song is supposed to be slow, and the fast tempo takes away from the breathlessness quality this song possesses.

  • Such a beautiful song. Can't wait to sing this with my choir next month at our concert.

  • really nice performance and interpretation!

  • Performing this for ensemble and this is truly one of the most beautiful pieces of music ive ever heard

  • @mbelle971 tomorrow!!! :)

  • Districts...and I LOVE THIS SONG! This is how I learned it, and this is probably the reason I got in to districts. It's a BEAUTIFUL piece.

And try-outs for regionals are tomorrow. Wish me luck!
