Jorge Capestany, founder of TennisDrills.tv, offers a profoundly revealing video comparing the QuickStart format to Full Court Tennis training for young players. Jorge Capestany is 1 of only 9 people worldwide that is a Master Professional with both the USPTA and PTR.
As the earlier poster stated, on the 78' court he is inside the baseline and chose to take the ball at the high contact point. From the proper rally area, he could have had an excellent contact point and can learn that on the full size court. Small courts can be a great tool, but so can the full court with good coaching.

What is the length of the net? Anybody know?

I like the initial comparison in terms of the length of the rally and point development. However, the video fails when comparing stroke production. First, on the 78' court, the player is standing way too far inside the baseline for proper stroke production. I don't believe an adult standing there can hit a good stroke either. If you look at the 36' court, he is well behind his baseline, allowing the proper bounce of the ball to provide proper stroke production.

Thanks for posting. Brilliantly argued. I have embedded the video in my blog-post "Why Mini Tennis is Good"

I love the dexterity shown by the young boy on the full court. He rolls his hand across the ball beautifully even though the ball is bouncing high. I agree with most of what was said but would this boy learn these skills if was stuck with just foam balls on a small court?

Hi! Looks like it is something I would like to start my 4 year old on. I have a childs tennis racquet for him, but where do you get the foam tennis balls? I am thinking about keeping the net at normal height, because we are taught to hit hit the ball with topspin high over the net and even placing a string several feet above the net as a guide. What do you think?
Thanks for the excellent video!
