The 4th Annual Portland Urban Iditarod was held on March 5th, 2005. The Urban Iditarod is like the sled dog race, but instead of dogs and sleds...it has people and shopping carts.
This is footage I've had sitting around for a long while. It is from four different cameras. A lot of the footage was shot by the racers on our team, hence 90% of it was too shaky to use. What I did use however, I had to go though each clip and find the few frames that were stable and then slow them way down.
Notice Bryan's beer handoff on the Burnside Bridge, that was awesome.
The song is "Die Matrosen" by the Swiss Band named LiLiPUT. It was released in 1980.
ah, no...I did work at Cellophane Square in Bellingham in 93-95 and Seattle in 95-96

Wow, I was searching for just the song itself (Liliput's "Die Matrosen") but ended up here and cool, you guys know how to have fun! Thanks for using such a great song and for showing me something I need to add to my bucket list!

Yeah! Funny thing about that song is that it was on q compilation CD I got free when I was working at a record store in 1995. About 11 years later I had all my CDs in iTunes and one day it came on in the shuffle mode and I was like "wow! what is this song!" Here I had this great song in my possesion for all those years and never knew it!
