this is mind blowingly awesome i can't get enough of that first part god damn..... i think that was top ten solo's ive ever herd....and ive herd thousands. guitar idol doesn't seem to be a contest for seasoned guitarist as yourself, like you said leave it to the kids haha , but i wouldn't mind your solo guitar status going up a bit so i can see some American or Canadian tours for your new album ... like north america so i can drive down from Canada eh ! : )

Speaking of competitions Guitarist of The Year is how Guthrie became first known - indeed knowing the man well and having interviewed him at length he has stated that winning that competition was what gave him the faith in his own playing to pursue it as a career and not continue down the path of academia (he was at Oxford University at the time).

@guitaridoltv ,that's wonderfull if it can do that for you!! looking back at my own history we entered many competitions in the past with the group Arabesque that i played with for 15 years..we won a lot in those days also national competitions but in my case invitations for endorsements (played 12 years for ENGL amps i got the deal after releasing the first album in 98" since and 2006 for BO-EL guitars) invitations for projects and deals where discography related..guess there are many ways
