Here is an interactive globe that was designed for a HCI travel planning project. This was taken just a few moments after I turned on the system.
Most of the photos in the demo are my own, but there are a few photos on the globe from travel websites, so we could get an idea of how some of what is on a travel website would work on a globe.
This demo was on a NextWindow Human Touch display. This display has great resolution and touch response, but it is not multi-touch.
NextWindow now has a variety of multi-touch screens.
(Johnny Hopkins, my partner for the "Pervasive Checkers" project for a Ubicomp class, is the guy behind the hand that is spinning the globe.)
I would like to see touch-tables in schools, libraries, and family rooms, if only they were affordable.

This demo is of my project partner rotating a prototype application that was made using Google Earth and You Tube, on a NextWindow Human Touch display. It would be great to see how this would work on Microsoft's Surface!
