  • Would a plastic card like Air Miles or something be better than cardboard?

  • @BlackAngusYoung Maybe. There is a lot of guitar voodoo that people think affects the sound. Since the neck pocket is curved, whatever you use for a shim would need to be flexible though.

  • Is it a very big deal if the wood breaks between the neck pocket and the pickup route? It seems like it would be, but I hope I'm just overly worried.

  • I just followed your instructions and did this shimming you've taught. I haven't completely adjusted the intonation yet, but it seems to have fixed it so that's doable! Very cool! Much easier to get the neck on and off evenly with those body holes bored out. Thanks again!
