@Elemarth I have no idea if it was a political thing or if the FIG simply didn't bother checking, but the 'Stroescu' skill (a salto in floor) in the COP was actually performed by Cajocar. So yay for them getting this lovely dismount right!

@happyjellyfish Oh. Well, then, I'm glad they actually bothered to get it right. What, do they think all Romanians are the same?
-
@Elemarth Not really. Aleftina Priakhina pioneered a number of moves both in floor and beam in the mid-80s and none is named after her. It has to do with performing the new move in a certain number of international competitions.
I'm glad Ma Yanhong's dismount was accredited to her because she was incredibly underrated. The FIG is also known for simply naming a skill after the wrong Romanian as well, of course.
-
@happyjellyfish They name moves after the first person to do it - it's nothing to do with how nice it looks.

What a gorgeous dismount. I'm glad they named it after her!
I love her toe point; amazing.

Truly ahead of her time on this event. She should not have been tied or placed second to anyone each time she competed on this event.
