Tim Buckley's Morning Glory (cover) Gary Hall @ Home

Written by Tim Buckley and Larry Beckett ("Tim the voice and Larry the word"), this song was first released on Tim Buckley's "Goodbye and Hello" album in the late '60s. I'm not trying to imitate Tim Buckley here. I couldn't do so if I wanted to. This is how the song has evolved for me since I first listened to the "Goodbye and Hello" album in the early winter of '69, shortly before shipping off to Vietnam. I suspect that I still associate this song with the volatile emotions of those times.

Nice one! This is a fantastic song, and Tim was a fantastic musician. Too bad I can't sing or play guitar, cause I wanna cover him too.. Can't find much bass tabs for his songs out there..:p

@Lompebroed Thanks for the kind comments. I discovered Tim Buckley back in the late '60s, shortly before shipping off to Vietnam. His music seemed especially appropriate in those crazy times. I'd certainly agree that this is a special song and that Tim Buckley was a wonderful performer.

@guitaniac I can imagine, there were lots of great artists back in the 60's, but Buckley's voice is really one of a kind. I'm only 20 years old though (and live in Norway!), so I didn't get to take part in the magic, but I came across a recording of Song to the Siren from some TV-show, and it totally blew my mind. It was just his voice and his 12-string guitar, but that was all he needed, really. I don't know -anyone- around my age listening to him, and that's too bad but their loss.:)
