Dedicated to the 48th Highlanders who lost their lives while On Active Service.

In Memory of Sergeant George Adams, Private Alfred Gillard and Sergeant Robert Shaw M.M. who were Killed In Action on Oct 14th 1944, 65 years ago today.

The 48th Highlanders of Canada honours their memory and all those Highland Laddies KIA or DOW. We honour them by collecting a photo of each of our fallen heroes and submitting a copy to the Canadian Virtual War Memorial for the project Operation: Picture Me. May their names and faces be remembered forever?

  • Great but, sad video. Many are so young looking. Their family never had a chance to bring them home, not like today. We shall always remember them.

Today we honour another soldier that travels along the Highway of Heroes.

  • Hello OperationPictureMe, a very moving video, this is a great tribute to some of Canada’s fallen soldiers. This video would be wonderful for the Canada’s Got Treasures collection, which aims to feature Canadian videos of personal or cultural significance. You can submit your video by joining our YouTube group (/group/TresorTreasure). It would be made available on our channel and website.
