Challenge to people knowledgeable about standing waves... what did I capture in this 12-string guitar video that used a canon 7d hight speed shutter video, with similar effect... check it out by clicking me name or searching "magic guitar strings video high speed shutter"

@LiquidChem If you listen to a "standing wave," you'll notice beats. Basically, the amplitude of the sound goes up and down, but the frequency remain the same.

「波長、振幅が等しい二つの波が、【互いに逆向きに】同じ速さで
進んで」ゆくというのを明瞭に通時的に可視化してくれたおかげで やっと正確に理解できました。 Thank you very much.

how can this be translated into audio? what would be the result, does the third line then represent another tone? is this harmonics? I created a sinve wave, then reversed it, and combined the 2. what happened - the signal was the same but much lower amplitude, thus quieter. Is this the same thing? it doesnt seem like it. The third line would have to be a negative value.. Does anyone know what Im trying to ask

This a 4 loop standing wave but how is a 1 loop standing wave created?

OMG i cant believe a 10 second video helped me so much
is the yellow one composition of the others???

The yellow wave is the addition of the two other waves (superposition principle).
