TRIUMPH TIGER 1050 test video

Just a test of making video with camera mounted on the bike. My friend Josef is leading with his Suzuki Vstrom 1000. We are riding on NC Blue Ridge Parkway.

How good is the Tiger? I'm thinking about buying one that's two or three years old and the guy selling it said that there's no difference between it and the newest ones because Triumph got it right when it first came out. Is that true, no difference?

P.P.S. Maybe kind of a stupid question, but ... how well do these Tigers do in heavy down pours? I hate it with all my past bikes that they'd sputter and sometimes even go dead. Do these Tigers manage heavy rain OK?

I have this Tiger since 2008, brand new, right now have 15.000 miles on it and no difference, love it. In heavy rain was no problem, but didn't push it more than 80m/h. Can not wait to start riding again, now I am skiing - hehehe

@blackparkwaytiger Thanks for the comment! I've been reading some more on the bike and some folks say there's a problem with the transmission causing it to pop out of gear. Don't know if that's true, but I still I wonder.....

One thing's for sure, they're beautiful looking!

@guyNbluejeans Never had problem with gears, only one thing I can say, its little harder to shift then Suzuki, but I got used to it i guess. Let me know if you have more questions ..........

I just picked up a used '08 tiger last month. I'm loving it. Nice video. That section of The Parkway (Soco Gap -> US441 at The Great Smoky Mountains NP) is my favorite. It's crazy that I knew exactly which section it was from the on-ramp on the South side of 19 within the first few seconds of the video.. I grew up in the area. I rode it on my Bonneville a few months ago and made a video as well. Thanks again for the video.

Unless Suzzy brings out an updated dl650 in afew years (I know thats a thou up ahead), I shall be moving onto a tiger. The strom is a great bike, but it has not changed much since 2002 (650 came out in 04). A trip computer would be nice, just like the tiger.
