Thiruvannamalai Food Feeding Program 2011 on Chitra Poornima, 17th April

Chitra Poornima is the name of the Full Moon which falls in the Tamil month of Chitra. This occurs when the Sun is in its exalted state of Aries (close to the Earth) and Moon is full and aligned with the bright star called Chitra in the constellation of Libra.

Chitra Poornima is also considered to be the birthday of Chitra Gupta, the karmic accountant of all the soul's doings and misdoings in life. He is considered to be the Karmic Accountant or the Divine Judge who tallies the good and bad deeds of every being and reports to Lord Yama in order to punish or reward them after their death.

Donation is considered to be the supreme remedy. It pleases the suffering and needy people and gets their blessings in return. Donations of any type like clothes, food, books, money , or anything that would serve a purpose for a suffering heart is considered great to become a purified soul.

AstroVed has conducted Thiruvannamalai Food Feeding Program 2011 on April 17th Chitra Poornima.The team prepared sweet pongal, curd rice and mixed vegetable rice and fed above 4500 devotees. The food feeding started at 6.15 pm and continued till 10.30 pm in the night. The food feeding program was graced by a pooja by the priests.
