Lorenzo Odone lost his battle with adrenoleukodsytrophy and passed away May 30, 2008 in his sleep at home in Fairfax, VA with both his father Augusto and life long friend Omouri Hassane at his side.
the effects ALD adrenal leukodystrophy and useful information, this is a genetic disorder that effect boys between the Age of 1-10 and is fatal.
there are ways to control it but not always successfully

@JoeMSIE Two of my cousins just received stem cell transplants at duke medical center and are cured of the disease, the damage done is permanent for the most part, but that is your best bet for a cure. I'm not sure how the transplant would take considering your son's age as opposed to my cousins, they were very young. But the best of luck to you.

Great basic information. My son is 23 and been treated with a mix of fatty acids suppliments DHA, ARA. He was part of the original DHA study in Baltimore, MD.
