I think Meryl had a much better shot at winning for Julie And Julia then for Doubt, due to sentiment being much stronger for her, but that wasn't enough to beat Sandra Bullock (Why did she win?). I think Anne Hathaway should have won this year, but I see why she didn't. The film just wasn't liked by a lot of people, including the Academy, unfortunately.

When Kate Winslet got up for Best Actress in "The Reader", it was over for Meryl Streep. Hopefully this year will be different and she'll win for "Julie & Julia". But Sandra Bullock poses a major threat.
