Interesting technique. The way I do it is I reach up with both hands as high as I can to one side and use my hands to brace the water. Then I hip snap towards my hands hard.

Tried for first time yesterday, was suprised how easy it was, almost managed it (only had 2 mins to try before we were kicked out) I keep bringing my head out the water too early (only been kayaking about 2 months now, just cracked eskimo rolls, or there abouts :P)
