I made a bunch of presets for Oatmeal (http://bicycle-for-slugs.org) and I managed to create one that sounds distinctively similar to the Saw Lead 1 patches from the Roland RS-50 and RD-700SX keyboards. At least that's what I think. Do you agree?

You can download my presets at http://rekkerd.org/oatmeal-presets-by-djtubigmalicex/

  • do yu kno how to record my own little sounds on the rs 50..?rite me back asap plz

  • @juanchomtz100 Cousin used to own the Roland RS-50. Unfortunately it didn't have any sampling capabilities as far as I can rememmber, but you can use the MIDI OUT port to connect it to a computer or other module to trigger external sounds using that keyboard.

  • hi.do u play direct to laptop?or thru mdi or usb interface?i have a midi keyboard a laptop,cubase sx3 ,do i need a usb interface to play the vst from laptop?or just plug my midi key to laptop thru usb port?

  • @HEAVYJAZZROCK If you use a MIDI controller via USB, you can just plug it straight into the laptop (depending on the device you have, you may have to install drivers first.) Then just boot up a DAW program that can load VST's, have MIDI input come through your controller, load up whatever VST and then start going nuts. Whatever sound comes out will pump through either the laptop or whatever speakers you got plugged in.

  • love the vid mn it really helps

    note , you look like jack black

  • Thanks for this very comprehensive video, you're good at this, thumbs up.

  • @xRisingForcex It's quite deep for a free synth of this nature. Make sure you're using one of those custom skins, the default one is like...staring at a stale bowl of porridge. xD

  • haha, it's all good man. i tried oatmeal out yesterday.. it's so complex. i'm used to having reason spoon-feed me good presets lol.

  • @xRisingForcex @xRisingForcex Sup. Damn it, you found my embarassingly old video. xD I really should post a new one that's perhaps better planned... '_';
