I was going through my closet today, and I found an original "QuieTone" that was purchased from a thrift store for 3 bucks a couple years back. I didn't think about looking it up until I found it today. Pretty cool.
my old teacher here in NY, Henry Adler, invented and produced these originally about 50 yrs ago, believe it or not. I used them in the early 80s, want to get another set for whole kit. Is bass drum mute available?
What do you all do for rim shots? That's a tough area to mute. Right now, I just slide my mute pad over so it's partly on the rim. I get complaints when I hit the rim, but everything I have quieted down pretty good.
