Pictures of Ghana with music by Tumi Ebow Ansa. The song is entitled "Owura" from the album "True Identity."

Tumi Ebow Ansa is a standard bearer of West African highlife music and an internationally recognized guitarist, singer, ethnomusicologist, and poet. His compositions are deeply rooted in African traditions, with lyrics that draw on social and political issues and the common joys of life. A founding member of the celebrated Afro-Caribbean band, Osibisa, and composer of the inspirational song, Woyaya, Ebow is highly sought-after as a clinician and performer.

  • the image from 0:30-0:40 , isn't that street in Navrongo_Upper East region of Ghana. I've been there before & i'm sure it's the place

  • as my mom and dad and grandparents would say titi songs meaning old songs

  • This is extraordinary and too beautiful for words. Thanks for posting.

  • love it x

  • nice rythm . . . authentic!

  • @Grebopekin That doesn't sound so complex.

  • @elegance212 Well, by saying "don't really," I meant to imply comparatively to many industrialized countries where the majority of the population is middle class. In contrast with the U.S., England, Germany, etc., most countries in South America and Africa have a large dip when it comes to middle income citizens. It's a sad fact of life that can't be masked by tourist attractions forever.

  • @Jamhet22 you can't say that they DONT HAVE a middle class.. most african countries and most south american countries have a middle class.. it might not be large.. but it exists.

  • this song is wonderful! Can you refer me to more music like this by Ansa? me dawasi pa!

  • @elegance212 Many countries don't really have a middle class, especially in Africa and South America. Sad, but true.
