playstation 3 disk read error*

my playstation 3 has broke! has this happend to anyone else, if so what did u do, please help, its like losing dear aunt christine...maybe worse.

Hey ive got the sme problem and im afraid ill have to restore the ps3 system which will wipe out everything does that mean the stimulus package download would go too or is there a way to save it

@BonzBoi19 you will have the stimulas map packs still on your ps3 account, but u will have to upload them again to your ps3 if you get me, same with all your downloads, so no you wont lose it. but if its the same problem as mine, restoring it wont do anything. you need a new blu ray lens...an stop leavin your discs in when you turn it off because apparently thats the problem

Its just a ps3 error send it in to sony I had a brand new console the next few dayz

that happend to me i sent it off to sony and they fixed it for free (sonys help service number for ps3 is 0844 736 0595)

It's probably your Blu-ray lense on your PS3 that's really dirty, or much more likely it's broken and needs to be repaired. Try either to clean your lense by using a Maxell Lense Cleaner for Blu-Ray players as they work on consoles, or find a local console repair shop. Most local shops will repair the Blu-Ray lense without wiping the hard drive, but to make sure make the request to avoid wiping the drive.

Google or look on Yelp for local AV shops that repair video game consoles.

i how to same problem on my ps3, if i put a disk in with won't read it and the circle in the corner goes around the stops and does it again, so i can't play playstation3 intil i can get it fix i dont know when that will be because my plastation has been broken for 5 mouths now no lie

it happend to me but i did some reserch and u should get something that involves a lazer but anyway it happens because of dust or smoke

hmmm i have that problem too.. i dont think its anything about long term play because i used to veg out on my ps2 for hours on in.. sony just decided to use the shittiest parts available so they could charge 150 dollars .. i mean this is only 1 problem from a long list.. oh and you dont have to reload anything if you back-up all your stuff onto a memory stick or in my case i just used my ipod , then i tried the restore method.. which by the way does nothing- except erase all your stuff...

You have to send it to Sony 90% of the time. Its a firmware issue something is corrupted or its you blu-ray lense
