Joshua Jones Theme Song!
Couldn't find the video sorry but there is a photo and the song is awesome. Other TV show themes I find nostalgic are 'The Family Ness' and 'Animals of Farthing Wood'.
I requested 'Joshua Jones' at http://www.televisiontunes.com/ and it was put up very soon! Awesome site :)

Lyrics:
Some people live in the country
some people live in the city or town
some people live at the top of a tower block
some people live much nearer the ground

but Joshua Jones
can live wherever he goes
his boat will take him
to all the nicest places he knows

Some people work in an office
some people like to work outdoors
some people work in a great big building
some people work on a factory floor

but Joshua Jones
can work wherever he goes
down by the waterside
or any place the water goes

la la la la la 'cus that's the life he knows
la la la la la 'cus that's the life he knows

  • i just realised how polictically correct joshua jones was for the time. Indian characters ethnic minorites i.e gypsies (which joshua clearly is) and abover all a ginger mongaloid. Man this programme should have appealed to everyone

  • I liked this better than fireman sam.

  • @LovedayTrelawney Yeah he was literally the comic idiot of the show definitely didn't finish school and really in any other programme would have been abused for how stupidly mongaloid he actually was!! I think this shows how Joshua Jones much like Alfred Hitchcock revolutionalised television

  • @Red0Wolf0 Is the ginger mongoloid (that phrase made me laugh so much!) the one who always wore the leather jacket and then there was that episode where he had to look after the hay but he let it get wet? Is that him?

  • This theme song is sung by Maldwyn Pope who also sang the original theme song for Fireman Sam.

  • Just to think... this programme is now 20 years old :)

  • @PoppyHillstead hmm yeah I thought that or Lee Mead

  • @MrComedy01 yeah I know and glad as thomas the tank engine is my favourite childhood show

  • @93DOL Look at the bright side... at least Ringo reprised his role as Thomas the tank engine :)

  • When I was little used to watch this around tea time and cbbc on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Was very good program.

  • Joshua Jones should have been in Peter Kay's animated all star band for 2009 children in need

  • @brianmayrules Hey Brian. Got your facts a little off there. Both this and Fireman Sam were sung by Mal Pope, but the songs were written by Ben Heneghan and Ian Lawson. Cheers!
