Ralph Bakshi's adaption of one and a half part of Tolkien's masterpiece. Youtube, you better not try to get this deleted or may The Almighty Himself deal with you justly in the destiny he has woven...

  • The plus side was that the animation was marvelous and the rotoscoping was some of the best I have ever seen. I know it wasn't something new at this time (Fleischer Studios if I am correct), but it was very revolutionary when it was released. I really enjoyed this and, as a kid, disappointed that the final part wasn't made.

  • Well, having not seen this movie since I was about 9 (about 21 years ago) I have to say that it does and doesn't have the same impact. One, I will say, the animation is amazing. Bakshi is an amazing artist and I was really glad to see him helm the "Rings". Having said that, I feel the film lacked true character development compared to the books. The first two books were condensed into a 2 hour and 15 minute long film. So much lost from the books... Nevertheless, I still enjoyed it.

  • I love at the beginning how Frodo makes this really long, awesome speech and Sam just gets up and walks away, whistling like "Awkwaaaaard..." XD

  • Is it me or is sam whistling the holly and the ivy?

  • I love how there's about a dozen bad guys outside the gate of Helm's Deep trying to bash it down. What, did (S)Aruman send a road patch crew out to do his dirty work? lol

  • @Bobaklives I half expected obi wan to come and explain to the characters how sand people are easily frightened and come back in greater numbers

  • Leonard Rosenman did an amazing job with the soundtrack!

  • yeah getting MAJOR gay vibes from Samwise in this

  • @marmik961 I think that would be best

  • @dragonson04 people are animals too and we can't help the way we feel but perhaps I should just keep my opinion and let you keep yours.
