Final approach and landing in Tioman island, Malaysia in a Diamond DA40 aircraft. Base leg is flown at 500ft with one stage of flaps for a stabilized approach. Entire base leg is flown at 70kts with a gradual descent to 300ft upon reaching the shoreline. Final approach is flown at 65kts with full flaps.

  • What's that sounds like mosquitoes on the final approach? GPWS?

  • DA40 has super sensitive stall horn... crossing the fence should be about 65kts, crossing the numbers should be around 60kts... a couple seconds after, sure got stall horn screaming already. Good landing Fabian! Sounds like YM talking at the end...
