We designed a product for a client and here is one of the parts in the process of being printed on our Stratasys 3D printer.

We first Model the product using SolidWorks. Then the 3D Model is exported from SW and imported into a special application for generating the 3D printer data. This software slices the 3D model into layers that are 0.007-0.010 inches thick, generates support material locations for overhangs, generates the machine tool paths and exports it all to the machine. This part took more than 20 hours to print as it is quite tall. This video was taken after about 2 hours.
