Rudy does some better close-ups of the items he just removed from the kiln glaze-firing at Quail Creek Pottery.

  • i love the crimped edges on your pottery, so beautiful!

  • @MrTolykozin

Thanks for the compliment... we are always trying new ideas to see what works...so I appreciate the feedback. Our web site is down right now....we do not have a planned adte to get it back onmline yet.

  • Great job, keep it coming. The book with the data information, did you make it up or did you get it from somewere?? I want to start a book with all of my glazing information on it also, just wondering. Thanks

  • @TheSignGuy32

Thanks for your comments. I created that Log Book, I layout the pages using Adobe In-Design and convert them to PDF fiormat. I have all the fields listed that I need to remember to fill out when I do a firing like dates, firing temp, start / end times...and some checkboxes and items listed that I circle...such as what kind of firing this is (Bisques, Glaze, Overglaze), which kiln I used e.t.c.. I also have areas for descriptions and notes.

  • Those are nice pieces. Do you ever work with anything other than red clay?

  • @MrAlbertmolina

I have used lots of different clays but decided to limit my work to just a few. This allos me to understand and master the characteristics of these clays and the color results after glazing. This commercial red clay named ' Navajo Wheel' has a very fine grain feel, similar to porcelain, It dries qucily with little warping and does a great job with most glaze colors.
