On April 9, 2011, The Andersons General Store in Maumee, Ohio hosted an E-Waste Collection and Shred Day. Affinity Information Management of Toledo, Ohio coordinated the event, which collected over 30 tons of electronic waste and 10 tons of paper documents that were shredded on site. During the six-hour event, 800 cars dropped off materials, many bringing both paper documents and old electronic devices.
Affinity Information Management (http://www.aimshredding.com) specializes in electronics recyling. At similar events held at The Andersons last year, AIM collected more than 150 tons of electronics that would have otherwise ended up in landfills.
